Village Health Clinic was founded by Dr. Brian Gluvic and Dr. Trang Duong, a husband and wife team who provide integrated health care, the blending of science-based natural medicine and conventional medical therapeutics.

Dr. Brian Gluvic
Naturopathic Physician

Dr. Brian Gluvic is a Naturopathic Physician at the Village Health Clinic, where he provides family medical care with an emphasis on dietary and nutritional therapies, lifestyle counseling and natural medicines. He completed a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Environmental Studies at the University of Victoria and medical degree at Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington and received additional training in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver. He has also received additional training in physical/sports medicine and incorporates exercise therapies, acupuncture, and injection therapies such as trigger point injection and prolotherapy into his approach to chronic pain. He is board certified in Acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine and prolotherapy.

Dr. Gluvic is an adjunct professor at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine where he teaches Pediatrics. He has received extensive training in Naturopathic pediatrics and frequently lectures on children’s health topics.

Away from the clinic, Dr. Gluvic is a dad, a mountain biker, a skier-turned-snowboarder-turned-skier, a gardener, and an amatuer astronomer.


Dr. Trang Duong
Naturopathic Physician
Registered Midwife

Dr. Duong received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology with Honors at the University of California in Santa Cruz. She accomplished her medical training at Bastyr University and the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle, Washington, where she received her degree in Naturopathic Medicine and Midwifery.

Dr. Duong has also completed the Breastfeeding Counselor Certification Program through Douglas College in New Westminster. In 2002, she traveled to the Vanuatu to deliver babies in a high-risk centre.

Dr. Duong currently maintains a family practice at the Village Health Clinic in Surrey with an emphasis in Midwifery and Women’s health. Her hospital privileges include Peace Arch Hospital and Surrey Memorial Hospital. Dr. Duong is a Clinical Instructor with the UBC Division of Midwifery, Department of Family Practice.

Outside of the clinic, Dr. Duong is a mom, a hot yoga addict, and a gluten-free, dairy-free and egg-free home cook.

Dr. Duong is a member of the College of Midwives of British Columbia, Midwives Association of British Columbia, and Canadian Association of Midwives.

Both Dr. Gluvic and Dr. Duong are members of the College of Naturopathic Physicians of British Columbia, British Columbia Naturopathic Association, and Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors.
